  • When I think of words to describe Dasha, she is present, nurturing, compassionate, genuine, and an expert in her field. Dasha is a best friend you go get coffee with, someone you can text at midnight when your worried, she is a phone call away, and will be by your side through the most challenging things life will throw at you and the most precious moments. She has great insight and advice along with endless resources for you! She is irreplaceable at your birth! There is no one like her, I am forever blessed and grateful to have her in my life. We love her so much and would recommend her! She worked so tirelessly with me, at my appointments and advocating for the birth I desired. It was such a beautiful experience, from essential oils, lighting, birthing positions and coordination with midwives. Even when I had to transfer to the hospital, she eased all my fears and I trusted her. I knew when complications arose she was there, holding not only my hand but supporting my husband. When my C-section took longer than expected she held my son in the recovery room, loving on him and making sure he was safe and not alone. She is there for you 100% and you will feel loved and supported with her by your side and can get through anything!!!

  • Dasha is an incredible gift to the birthing world! She's extremely knowledgeable and is constantly expanding her knowledge, she even is a birth educator! I never felt like I was bothering her with my questions prior to birth. She attended a birth prep appointment with my PT and a prenatal appointment with my OB. She always answered my texts in a very prompt and timely manner, and always put my anxieties to rest. Dasha is so well connected in the birth community that she has endless answers for any support that you might need throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. During my fast and furious birth (2 hours in the hospital) she kept me laughing, took extra care to support my husband and made sure the nurses stayed on track with my birth plan. Dasha is kind, funny and will support your birth, your way!!

  • Just after I met Dasha, I learned that in Spanish, the phrase for giving birth is “dar a luz” which literally means, “to give light.”

I thought it was such a beautiful way to describe birth and it reminded me of Dasha and La Lanterne - being a doula, carrier of light, a carrier of mamas, while mamas give the light.

Despite writing birth plans A, B, C, I truly believed that I could manifest my plan A into being. My sweet breech baby had other plans. Dasha was a bottomless well of resources as we tried all the tricks in the book to flip the baby. When the baby didn't respond to our efforts, a planned cesarean became our birth path. At 38 weeks pregnant, moving from plan A straight into plan C was a lot to process. I am not one to easily lean on other people, but I am so unbelievably grateful Dasha was there through it all. Her big heart combined with her wisdom and experience in the birthing world helped shine a light in the darkness. Thank you for helping carry me through, mama doula Dasha!

  • Dasha was amazing to work with! She came to us as a backup doula when our original doula was sick as I was going into my first childbirth. She acted quickly, was very flexible and went above and beyond to make sure my first labor experience was the best that it could be. She listened to our wants and needs and supported us in the best ways accordingly. She brought different tools and items to help me through my contractions and to make sure the environment was comfortable. Dasha was personable, relatable and we were able to connect with her in such a short time. My partner and I were so happy and lucky to have had her help in contributing to our positive birth experience. I would definitely recommend her to others, and we also hope to have her part of our team again in the future.

  • Dasha was absolutely amazing! She truly went above and beyond to ensure my birthing experience was as positive as possible. During labor she was a constant source of encouragement. She offered various comfort measures and suggestions to ease my pain during contractions. After giving birth I had a minor complication and had to be transferred to the hospital. I absolutely appreciated her being at the hospital with me, she explained my situation to the ER staff as I was in pain and unable to do so myself. Dasha really helped make this transition as smooth as possible. I can't recommend her enough. Her services were invaluable, and I credit her with helping me achieve a beautiful and empowering birth experience.

  • Where do I even begin? Our experience with our doula Dasha was nothing short of miraculous. From the moment we connected, her unwavering support and expertise enveloped us in a cocoon of comfort and confidence. She guided my husband and I with profound knowledge and an endless well of encouragement. Her ability to read and address our needs was astonishing, offering emotional support and practical guidance that made the birthing process an empowering, beautiful journey. Her passion and dedication to her craft shone brilliantly, and her presence was not just invaluable, but truly transformative. In every sense, she is like the guardian angel we never knew we needed. Her impact went far beyond what words can encapsulate – an absolute gem in the realm of birth support. If you're seeking a Doula, this is the individual who will not only assist in the birth but will elevate it into an experience you'll cherish forever.cription

  • I want to share my experience of childbirth with Dasha as my doula.

I met her long before my due date. I didn’t even know what a doula was at that time. Dasha offered to meet with me for coffee because she knew this was my first baby and offered her time to answer any of my ever growing questions.

We talked about childbirth and my vision for my birth, I learned a lot of new things for myself, these conversations helped me cope with anxiety and get to know Dasha. I live in Seattle and Dasha is based out of Boise. She explained all the logistics of out of state doula and promised to do everything she can to make it to my birth. She also introduced me to a local doula (her back up).

A few weeks before my due date, we had a virtual meeting and made my Birth plan.

My plans were for a natural birth, without interventions. I really liked that Dasha spoke in detail about variations in childbirth and I knew all the PROS and CONS.

I knew that my doula would support me every step of the way and that made me feel safe.

On August 20 at 12:00pm I started having contractions and my dream birth began. Dasha was already in Seattle for a couple days, waiting for me to be ready. I felt safe knowing she is nearby. We labored at home as long as possible and transferred to the hospital with ease just for the delivery. She never left my side.

I am incredibly grateful to my doula that I was able to give birth safely, quickly and felt empowered the whole time. I had total trust in her! I was able to trust my body and what helped me was, knowing that I had a supportive woman who knew what childbirth was like by my side. I'm happy that she was with me!

  • Dasha was everything and more of what I could’ve asked for in a doula. She is consistent, thoughtful, deeply caring for you, your baby and your whole family. She has so much knowledge to share and something I deeply appreciate about her is that she is always looking for continual learning and training for herself so that she can offer you her absolute best. She speaks truth and is so encouraging during birth and makes sure you’ve got everything you need. You would not be mistaken by hiring her as your doula. She’s the best of the best!

  • Dasha was an incredible friend, support and resource throughout my pregnancy and birth. In my journey of becoming a Single Mom by Choice and not having any family living nearby, having a knowledgeable and accessible doula by my side was a godsend. I found Dasha through a local Meet the Doulas event and her caring nature immediately shone through. As we began planning for my birth, she guided me through all of the questions that I didn't even know to ask and made sure that I was prepared with multiple check-ins and suggestions. She was there with me at the hospital when I was admitted for labor at 3AM & was such a calming & supportive presence throughout labor, birth, & afterward. I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a doula!

  • We interviewed a few Doulas and Dasha stood out with her warm nature and strong experience - she immediately made us feel calm and actually really excited. I'm so glad we went with Dasha, because when things arose during the birth process, like my water breaking and her being my first text with an immediate call back, or helping with movements as contractions became stronger and gracefully nudging my partner on what to do next; she was like the friend you needed there. Then, when things got a little more complicated, like discovering there was a vain in the way of babies head, she was like the doctor you always wanted on your side, guiding the nurse on suggestions that would make my delivery the most natural as possible, just like ee discussed in birth plan. Dasha has also been good about checking in postpartum and has made great recommendations on tips to try for breastfeeding and getting baby to sleep! I'd highly recommend Dasha for your journey as early as possible to get the best planning, support, and preparation advice!

  • Dasha just has a way of connecting with people. She goes to my gym and on her very first day because I was pregnant, approached me with a brochure. I hadn't considered a doula for my birth and was largely not interested at the time. The more I looked at the brochure that she gave me I got more interested in decided to sit down and talk about it. I learned a lot over the next bit about how it could benefit me and decided to move forward with it. I was a super stressed out pregnant lady. I was afraid of so many things regarding the birth process and not knowing what was going to happen and if I would be able to advocate for what I wanted.

That's where Dasha stepped in and we made a plan and I knew that no matter what she would advocate on my behalf in the best interest of me and my baby. She asked every question she could possibly ask to know how to help me if my plan were to change. Even down to how I can best be supported. For me I don't like placating statements like "everything is going to be okay", etc so she knew exactly how to help me through the labor process in the best way.

I ended up being induced and she was there from beginning till the very end. When my epidural didn't work correctly she was there trying to lighten the mood as we went through the contractions and made sure that the right people were being called to get it fixed. During pushing she was holding one leg with my husband on the other and helped with different (more helpful) cueing when I wasn't quite following what the doctor was saying.

One of the best parts was right as he was born she was immediately grabbing phones and taking pictures and videos and I appreciate that SO much. It didn't even occur to me because at that point I was highly medicated and, you know, just pushed a baby out and was baffled by the quick transition into motherhood.

It was so great to have her on my team and I've already called dibs on her for the next baby!

  • Dasha is incredible! My husband and I were so lucky to find Dasha when we did. We had a 35 week preemie and needed a little help to get us through our sleepless nights! Dasha has a tremendous heart and a gift for helping others. Her caring nature brought so much comfort to us and our beautiful son, Jack. She had amazing advice and experience to pull from and she never made us feel like we HAD to take her advice…she is so super respectful. I was actually sad when we outgrew her services because her presence is a a true gift to any Mama!

  • Dasha is an amazing combination of sweet, caring, and tenacious. She will do everything she can to make sure you get the outcomes that you want. She was a wonderful presence to have leading up to, and during delivery. I had an incredible birth experience and credit her greatly with the outcome. I consider her a friend and would recommend her to anyone needing a doula!

  • Dasha was present at the birth of our second daughter. She is a calm, encouraging, warm presence and enthusiastic about her job. During the quick unmedicated hospital birth, she was essential for providing counter pressure through strong contractions, ideas for labor positions, essential oils, and encouragement. My husband and I were on the fence about having a doula (we're both in the medical field and have been through it before, so we just didn't know if it was needed...) we both said we are so happy we had Dasha there and that her support got me farther along faster and calmer then last time. She also allowed us to be in the moment together and went with the flow when we had to make some birth plan changes. We are so grateful and would recommend her to anyone wanting some extra support during birth!

  • Dasha went above and beyond to make our birth experience feel supported and amazing. She loves what she does and her passion helped my husband and I feel supported in every step of labor, birth and postpartum. She took the time to understand me, the way I wanted to make decisions and then empowered me with the knowledge to make choices that felt good to me.

Starting before early labor, it was so helpful to have her explain what was happening and what I could expect. At the hospital, it was so helpful to have her there to anticipate what I might need when it became harder to ask for what I needed.

When my water broke, we discovered there was meconium in it. Dasha was so helpful explaining everything that could happen in a way that felt reassuring. When the NICU nurses had to take my son at birth, I was so grateful for Dasha's support. My husband was able to watch them care for our son and Dasha was there to support me. This support made a very scary moment feel so much less scary. I felt surprisingly calm and at ease during a very scary/uncertain moment.

Overall, my birth experience was positive and is now a precious memory despite complications and things that didn't go as planned. Dasha is a huge reason for that and I highly recommend her.

  • Dasha was my biggest source of support and information as I went through my pregnancy. She eased up my mind and helped deal with many fears that come with my changing body and hormones. I can't think of a single person who is more genuine, generous, caring and passionate in all things mother and helping others. Dasha was also my shoulder to lean on during postpartum. She talked me through anxieties of being a new parent. Supprted and aided me through my recovery. She is a Walking Wikipedia of all symptoms, physical and emotional. I couldn't imagine going through pregnancy and postpartum without her. This woman is magic.

  • I was only days out from having my son when I developed mastitis. Although I was taking antibiotics, it was only getting worse. My toddler brought a cold home from daycare just before my due date, so I was simultaneously recovering from child birth, a severe cold, and battling this infection. I felt like I had been hit by a bus. At my breaking point, having worked with lactation and my antibiotic not working, I called Dasha. She came right over with essential oils and several new ideas to try. Her support and calming demeanor were exactly what I needed. Not only did she support me, but she was also kind and inclusive of my overly curious toddler. She continued checking on me for days after until the infection had subsided. Dasha is kind, calming, caring, generous, reliable, knowledgeable and supportive. I'm so thankful to call Dasha my friend, and I couldn't recommend her more to care for you in your time of need.
